Two practical itinerary templates

These are base itineraries for discussing a private-charter quote, not fixed group-tour packages. Choose the 5-day classic route or the slower 6-day route, then adjust attractions within the same area according to season, flights, group size and luggage.

5-day classic route

Day 1: New Chitose Airport → Sapporo, about 50 km. Day 2: Sapporo → Shiroi Koibito Park → Otaru Canal → Sakaimachi → Mt. Tengu → Sapporo, about 100–130 km and 8–9 hours. Day 3: Sapporo → Nakayama Pass → Lake Toya → Showa-shinzan / Mt. Usu area → Toyako Onsen, about 140–170 km. Day 4: Lake Toya → Noboribetsu Jigokudani → onsen town → Oyunuma area → Sapporo, about 190–220 km. Day 5: Sapporo → New Chitose Airport, optionally via Kitahiroshima if flight time allows.

6-day slower route

Day 1: New Chitose Airport → Sapporo. Day 2: Sapporo → Yoichi → Otaru, overnight Otaru. Day 3: Otaru → Lake Toya, overnight Toya. Day 4: Lake Toya → Showa-shinzan → Noboribetsu, overnight Noboribetsu. Day 5: Noboribetsu → Shiraoi or Kitahiroshima → Sapporo. Day 6: Sapporo → New Chitose Airport.

Who is this route for?

The 5-day version works well for first-time visitors, families and older travelers who want a low-to-moderate pace. The 6-day version gives the overnight destinations more value and spreads driving more evenly.

Why the days are not overloaded

Multi-day charters must account for actual driving, boarding, waiting, meals and driver breaks. Long-distance days intentionally contain fewer attractions. Final operation is confirmed by the licensed transport company according to vehicle, driver duty limits, road and seasonal conditions.

Can attractions be changed?

Yes. Keep the overnight locations and main travel direction as the base, then replace attractions with alternatives in the same area. Distances and vehicle hours are planning estimates, not travel-time guarantees. Winter weather, holidays, accidents, closures and opening hours may require changes.
