Spring
Hokkaido is one of the most beautiful places in Japan to see cherry blossoms. The cherry blossoms here bloom later than in other regions, usually from late April to early May. When the cherry blossom season ends, other spring flowers begin to bloom.
Summer
June is the rainy season in most areas of Japan, and summer is also a rainy season except for Hokkaido. Hokkaido can avoid this rainy season, so summer is a great time to travel to Hokkaido. The flower season in central Hokkaido reaches its peak around July.
The "Powder Land" is renowned worldwide for its high-quality powder snow. Although there is a lot of snow all year round, the weather is usually brighter, fresher and more comfortable than wet. Snow starts to accumulate in December, and January and February are the coldest seasons of the year.
